American Bantam

The Company was founded in 1929 as "American Austin Car Company" by the British Austin Company to produce and sell the Austin Seven in the USA. But it did not work very well, the reasons were the world economic crisis, the size and the prize of the cars. In 1932 American Austin went bankrupt. In 1937 the company was revived as "American Bantam". The cars were restyled, the engine was modified. This lasted until 1940, when the production finally stopped.
